if you mean to insinuate that it makes a semi auto act as a full auto, this is not true.

bump firing still requires a separate pull of the trigger to fire each round. the only difference is in the physics: you are using the momentum of the firearm to pull the trigger.

ATFs only concern is that no more than 1 bullet exits the barrel for every trigger pull.

whether or not you should do it because (it would look like) its a careless way to fire a firearm, or because you can get kicked off the range for doing it, is another matter.
