Gun on Campus

I always thought no guns at all on college campus. I was reading some laws and found this. Under statute 790.115(2)(a)3 it appears if you have a FL CWP you can keep your gun in your car on college campus.

(2)(a)A person shall not possess any firearm, electric weapon or device, destructive device, or other weapon as defined in s. 790.001(13), including a razor blade or box cutter, except as authorized in support of school-sanctioned activities, at a school-sponsored event or on the property of any school, school bus, or school bus stop; however, a person may carry a firearm
...
3.In a vehicle pursuant to s. 790.25(5); except that school districts may adopt written and published policies that waive the exception in this subparagraph for purposes of student and campus parking privileges.

Valencia and UCF are not "school districts" so the written and published exception wouldn't apply to them.

It would just be a nice break to know we can protect ourselves to and from school until CCW is allowed inside the facilities. If I am reading this right

Considering that VCC has one or two gun scares a week via their email/text alerts I wouldn't mind someone carrying a CCW in my class

when it refers to school districts, i believe its referring to high schools.

state universities are CLOSELY regulated by the state, even to the point of having retarded state wide educational policies.
