speeding ticket

Friend of mine got a ticket and usually you can tell whether or not someone has a chance of beating a ticket by taking it to court. Either they have a good case with some good evidence, or they dont and they have to pray that the officer doesnt show up. I have this question, what if the officer writes the incorrect time on the ticket. The time on the ticket was 8:02 PM on February 9th 2007. The actual time the ticket was written was more like 1:30 AM on February 10th 2007. My friend was at work at 8:02 PM on February 9th and has time sheets and witnesses that can prove it. Is this really a legitimate way of fighting the ticket? i found it to be quite interesting. BTW, its 60.5 MPH(dont ask, lol) in a 45 mph zone....

get time sheet from work and take it to court and tell the cop he's not telling the truth in his face!!

make an apointment to talk with the prosecutor and plea bargain for equipment misuse. going to court gets expensive.

i had somthing similar happen a few months ago and tryed to fight it, i was in a black 94 stealth and the ticket said it was a blue 2005 escort or somthing, well, i tryed to fight it and the judge asked if it was my signature on the ticket i said no, he said sure looks like it to me. i lost

Feb 9th. My Burfday........

Anyway, similar thing happened to me. I had my ticket for speeding (10 MPH over, nothing obnoxious) given to me at 11 AM physically, but according to the Computer, it was 9:56 PM.

I guess it is the computer, but I wouldn't fight it cause in the end he still was given a ticket.

If you were going to prove this you would need to say that you never got the ticket, you were at work, that is not your signature and basically not attempt to fight the ticket until they summon you to court and inform you of the incident.

Hey it is worth a shot.

They also look at the history of the driving record as a way to establish character and believabiltity. so take that into consideration and be prepared to have answers for ALL questions.

Also the cop could just say he is a moron and made a mistake and specifically point you out as the person he pulled over so it is a 50/50 crap shoot.

take it to court, best is they dont show and its free (minus parking in their garage and whatnot lol) and if you lose, they'll probably only tack on 30 or 50 bucks for court costs.

well personally speaking, i've taken the winter garden PD (the agency in this case) to court and they never show up because they are already lacking in manpower and dont have the resources to send officers to court (this is what a lieutenant told my father first hand)...

also, i've gotten a 90 in a 70 in polk county, where they take your driving record very seriously in speeding cases, and i have quite a few tickets and i only ended up paying the fine of the ticket (200), no court costs, and ended up having to take a 4 hr class......
