'75 Datsun 280z

Hi everyone, my name is Shane and I'm 16 and planning on entering into the Grassroots Motorsports $2011 challenge. I was originally entering a Miata with 2 of my friends but things didn't go as planned and nothing worked out. So now I'm planning on taking the challenge by the horns and entering as a team of me, myself, and I. I have a '75 Datsun 280z that I am going to be using for the challenge. I bought it for $400 and it came with lowering springs, triple carbs, and a Cartech turbo kit. There's not much more that I'm planning on doing motor wise to it, but I do have plans for bushings, sway bars, brakes, exhaust, some weight reduction, and a unique paint scheeme. Here are some pictures of what it looked like when I got it and what it looks like so far. I've spent about $100 in paint, so that means I have $1,511 more to spend, but I doubt that I'm going to use that much.

Thanks everyone. I've come up with a team name. (really it's just me and maybe my dad to drive up with me with the truck and trailer just in case anything happens) What do you guys think about Team Angry Rooster?

Thanks you guys. This weekend I tinted the tail lights, and stripped all of the sound deadner out. It took me all day Saturday to strip all of it, but I left the firewall insulation on so that it doesn't get too hot. When I got the car I bought $60 worth of Rustoleum and painted the inside black, I mean EVERYTHING. Now that money went to waste because I painted over the sound deadner. I should have weighed the everything I took out but I was too tired by 12'oclock in the morning to do it. Anyway, here's some pics.

Thanks, you basically build a car for $2,011 or less and then you autocross, drag and get a score for the looks. They created it so that grassroots racers can have fun while spend very little money.
