    Pics of my 91 Galant VR4 and 96 Galant 2.4L Turbo

    Well...I thought I would post pics and info on my 2 project cars since I may attend some meetings and going to the track so you guys/gals have a hint who owns these 2 Galants. I have a 1991 Galant VR4 #1948/2000 and a 1996 Galant 5speed turbocharged 2.4L 4g64. Some of you may of remembered me posting pics of my 1996 Galant as I slowly installed JDM E8 Galant VR4 body pieces to it. I turbo'ed my 1996 Galant doing my own research and 95% of the installation myself only the I/C piping which was doing my friend and backhalf of the exhaust by RoadRunner account for the remaining 5%. My aim for the 96 Galant is to make around 300hp and keep it SOHC which right now I feel is very attainable. The GVR4 though I plan to restore slowly and make it look good and make some high numbers with it. I am also having my friend redo the I/C piping for the GVR4 hopefully in the within the next month. I haven't dyno'ed the GVR4 yet...I am still fixing some issues with it and deciding the suspension setup I want for it. For now...here are pics of the cars and their current mods.







    Here are the current mods on the GVR4:
    ENGINE
    - JDM rally spec cyclone engine, balance shafts removed w/ OEM mirage parts
    - EVO III BIG 16G, heavily ported turbine housing, ported compressor outlet, 34mm flapper (Dave Richardson's fine work
    - Spearco 2-216 “race” FMIC [28x10.5x3.5 core, 33” wide including end tanks] 2.5” inlet/outlet
    - 3” ATR SS O2 eliminator & 3” ATR SS turboback (adapted from 1G AWD)
    - Injen polished 2G MAS intake and Injen air filter
    - DejonTool 2.5” short-route UIP for GM 3"/3.5" MAS
    - ChargedAir adjustable fuel pressure regulator @ 37psi
    - FIC 650cc injectors
    - 2G MAS (screw backed out, honeycombs intact)
    - HKS SSQ BOV w/ recirc fitting
    - Ported 2G manifold (drilled/tapped for 1/8" NPT EGT probe)
    - CatCo 3” high flow catalytic converter
    - ACT 2600 clutch
    - Extreme Motorsports XBC @ 1bar/15psi
    - Walbro 255HP rewired
    - NGK plug wires
    - NGK BPR7ES
    - SPAL push/pull slimline radiator fan
    - SS clutch line

    TRANSMISSION
    - fully rebuilt with lots of new parts by TRE
    - TRE/EVO steel shift forks w/ bronze wear pads
    - new 1-3 double synchros
    - 2G trash screen
    - reshimmed
    - magnetic drain plug
    - New gears chronogentically treated and shot peened

    ELECTRONICS/INTERIOR
    - EPROM ECU (mods listed below)
    - S-AFC II black limited edition hidden under 'unicorn' center gauge pod
    - Greddy 52mm 1.5bar boost, EGT, and 10bar oil pressure (matching)
    - TMO datalogger cable (and laptop software)
    - palm M105 and adapter cable
    - CD player
    - 6.5" speakers all around
    - Optima redtop in trunk
    - Custom black floormats
    - factory leather shift knob
    - 1G short shifter
    - 1G leather shift boot
    - OEM twin cup holder

    EXTERIOR
    - JDM RS front bumper & foglights
    - JDM 2-bulb corners
    - 5 lug conversion
    - 4 bolt LSD rear
    - 2003 17" eclipse wheels/tires
    - SMC SS shielded brake lines
    - PowerSlot rotors (just turned)
    - JDM two-bulb corners
    - 92 grill
    - new windshield
    - very clean headlights
    - Silverstar bulbs
    - 'mafia' antenna

    EPROM MODS (Thanks to Jestr Tuning)
    - knock gauge (factory LED boost gauge)
    - 5k stutter
    - 8k revlimit
    - 2G MAS code
    - 650cc injectors
    - 315ms deadtime
    - MAF Hz x2 (for logging over 1606Hz)
    - no fuel cut
    - 800rpm idle
    - injector pulse width cap removed
    - 2X resolution fuel/timing maps

    REMOVED
    - ABS (1G non-ABS lines & proportioning valve installed)
    - 4WS (all lines removed; 1G power steering rack, lines, & pump installed)
    - A/C removed (everything is included though)
    - cruise control (non-cruise cable installed)
    - EGR & FIAV blockoff (no more high start-up idle when cold!)
    - charcoal canister

    The GVR4...I don't know. It hasn't seen track time yet its has been and still being restored and modified. I still am not really done with the car yet....but the motor and drivetrain are done for the time being, concentrating on the suspension and exterior. I am awaiting several JDM pieces to arrive.

    The 1996 Galant saw track time when it was pretty much bone stock which was last year. I still have to install my Exedy clutch and a few more bolt on mods...then i'll take it to the track, but looking to get it dyno'ed first. I am not done with this car...I have a few more BIG mods to add on then i'll be putting in the more "boost friendly" motor next year.

    $200-300 filter...Whoa, just a simple HKS foam filter I got for $50. Those $200-300 filters are those really nice Ebay super space age solid rocket booster with blow off valve sound filters.........THOSE are way too expensive for me

    Thanks man...I always liked your Mx6 too man, I like the new pix you took of it. I need to install my new clutch...the ORIGINAL stock clutch is seeing the end of its days and can longer feel the motors potential.

    What rims ore on the 96? I am looking for something simular foor my GTI that dont cost 300 a wheel.
