need help matching an amp for subs

i plan on getting these MTX jackhammers but have no clue how big of an amp i would need. they are peak watts at 800 rms i dont know if thats for each sub or together with 2 ohms well anyways heres the link

update: i found this amp its a one channel able to hold 750rms

on the page for the subs its recommended 400-800 rms wattage now since its 750x1 i still dont know if i only need one or two cuz i dont know if the subs are 800rms each or together

That box is an 800 watt RMS box -- each sub can handle up to 400 watts RMS. So, for the entire box, a 750 watt RMS mono amp would be a very good choice.

Continued (decided to add this after it was too late to edit my post) ...

The 750 watt amp should be very good, but if it is more than you want to spend, you can go with lower power and still get decent sound. The specs say recommended RMS amp power for that box is 400 to 800 watts, so 750 is about ideal, but you could do 400 or 600 if you wanted. But obviously, you wouldn't get as much bass with a lower powered amp.

i have a few 2000wrms class d mono block amps f/s.....lil more power than u need but more power is better than too little

more power is better than too little...ehh, both will blow ur subs. lol. but at least the more power amp can be adjusted via gains. too little will just be too much signal/noise ratio.

If you go with a 2 channel amp, make sure it's 2 ohm stable when you bridge it mono (which isn't very common), because as far as I know, that sub/box set has a single set of 2 ohm inputs. A mono amp is usually a better choice for bass.

1600 watts for that sub package? i just looked at it, i hadn't had a chance to earlier. that's rediculous. i've got the 5601 mtx class D amp brand new at a ridiculously low price. shoot me a pm. i'll get u hooked up. and if u really want, i can sell u my 2 kicker cvr 12's for a good price too.
