Um. 2 gauge or bigger. And use a fuse.
u shouldnt relocate ur batter ur alternator my give up quicker then expected..i had mine relocated then 1year later the alternator goes out just so happens the power has to travel longer to get back from the alternator to your battery

what gauge wire were you running?
You are running 3 amp in what kinda car? On a stock alternator thats the problem. Try upgrading the charging system, and then the alternator wont go out and also add a battery to it as well

use 2ga...but what type of car is it? newer cars will throw a cel because of the voltage drop via the resistance of the length of wire. if it's a honda or nissan...then you're fine. i did my last car with 4ga and it held up for years. just make sure you use a battery box or you're gonna kill yourself with fumes. also, i'd recommend a 6pack battery of your choice...but i've used optima plenty of times with no problems. if u need any other help, just lemme kno. and as far as the fuse...u can use one or you can get yourself a circuit breaker. they're used commonly on spl soundsystems so they're pretty reliable.
Honestly you are a flaming idiot if you put a regular car battery in the back.
i was using a 2gag wire and i had a red top in the back and a stock alterantor i should have upped the chargin on it but oh well..cars crushed now so i dont give 2flukes lol
