rediculious gastapo checkpoint/money maker..BVL area

I drive around the BVL are a lot and I'v noticed something that bothers me. If your are driving down osceola parkway about to make a right on landstar/bvl there is a no right turn on red sign. The signed is posted at the intersection on the farside streetlight structure. There are 3 signs before it which all say right turn only for the right lane. If you are unfortunate enough to be not used to the brand new intersection you will most likly come to a complete stop after reading the three signs, look to the right and go. IT'S ILLEGAL. There are cops in unmarked cars parked right on the corner hidding in the dark. They than pull you over and i'm assuming ticket you, as well as the gastapo like "checkpoint" which this creates. Basically an excuse to check breath/car ect.

I have seen them out there 2/3 nights a week with numerous cars pulled over. I think it's crazy what they can get away with. The sign is very hard to see at night.

This gives the county the $200+ for the ticket as well as felony arrests, dui's and unlawful searches.

i live about 2 miles from this intersection. Do you mean the 711 corner or the publix corner?

I actually misread that the first time... He's saying there IS a sign.

I hope people are taking these tickets to court. If it is truly hard to see, then something needs to change. If it's unsafe to turn during a red, then that sign needs to be more visible. And if it's set up just to extort money, we need to put a stop to it.

Well then contact the DOT to get the sign moved. In other states that's where they are though.

Ohio hates the U-turn. The signs are across the intersection where I wasn't used to seeing it. Got popped for it and the officer just gave me a warning when I explained what I was used to seeing.

There is a small sign 20 feet across the intersection which is nearly impossible to see... And is impossible to see at night if u have bad eyes. It's total bs because there should be a sign before the intersection... But instead there are 3 right turn only signs. Makes no sense other than a money making spot

complain to the DOT about the sign placement. Write somebody about it. Make it a known complaint and then things will change.

Hell call the news and watch them go on about it.

if you have bad eyes, you shouldn't be driving at night anyway

I was there today and only saw the yield to peds sign.

The sign should be placed on the actual traffic light itself, that's how all of those signs here are, and they are very visible because your eyes are already looking at the signal up there anyway.

Sounds like another way to generate revenue for a cash-strapped municipality. I would blow their spot up.
