Uh I routinely see people making under 30 grand a year with 80k plus in CC debt.

My mother has a shit ton of credit. She makes under $50k. She hasn't spent all the credit, because she's responsible, but she has it. She does have some debt, but most of what is in her name is for other family members (she loaned them money).

if we could have a dollar for dollar spending cut for every tax raise, i would be in favor of of raising taxes.

but we also have to incentive market competition.

in every area where one has health insurance coverage, costs have gone up because the citizens consuming health insurance/government programs (medicare, medicaid [i.e., third party payer systems]) don't shop or make professionals compete for their dollars.

in every area where one DOESN'T have health insurance coverage, costs have gone down because there is marketplace competition.

simply throwing money at a problem doesn't solve it if it encourages to double down on price inflation

^this has been my point all along. reliable credit rating agencies like ergon jones are concerned about debt/gdp ratio. as we can see, the numbers dont add up, and the "debt deal" didnt do much to reverse our debt/gdp ration.

hence, why SnP followed ergon-jones in downgrading our debt. i.e., our debt is becoming more and more riskier to invest in.

i would rather that we end foreign aid to EVERYONE. but israel has such a huge lobbying power in DC, its just not feasible.

but if we could eliminate aid to everyone but Israel, that would be a GREAT accomplishment.

i have an Army buddy, signals officer, works in the international comms center in Tampa. he regularly meets officer counterparts from NATO and non-NATO allies, Britain, Turkey, Jordan.

he said the training and man power is so immeasurably underfunded and undermanned in NATO ally countries, that if any part of Europe were invaded (say, by China), they would RELY ON US for their defense.

agreed, and many of the Republicans are hypocrites. they talk about the Obama debt deal baseline as including future inflations of medicare and medcaid, but then dont accept because it would cut defense spending, when defense spending baselines are future inflations as well. government all around, defense included, needs to be downsized.
