Upcoming Rides and Events Thread

Use this topic to post any events you know of or rides happening in the Orlando and surrounding Central Florida area, I will add them as I stumble across them here.

-LAST FRIDAY of every month = Critical Mass, meet in front of the Orlando Science Center 5:00 ride out at 5:30 (though usually a little later)

I have RUN this race EVERY year since it's inception, the Spring-time race has had different names here and there but it's the same type of race. You will NOT be disappointed. I run the kind of ace I would want to do. Plus there IS a cash prize for 1st place IF YOUR ON A FREAKBIKE (if you have to ask if your bike is a Freakbike, it's not a Freakbike). Usually a pretty decent turnout, this is one of the ones definitely worth the drive. My Springtime alley cats are always OG. Its the Fraidy Cat in Oct that gets wonky weird in a good way.

It is not USA cycling-sanctioned, which means ANYONE can race even Greg on a 3-wheeler granny bike. No pros do this. It's a social meet-greet-street heat that MIGHT last about an hour and a half, no one knows until race time. We might rip the bar scene afterward, which is decent in West Palm if you know where to go. $10 entry fee, $15 without a helmet.

I live in god damn bum**** Melbourne and I'm going, I will be volunteering a checkpoint here. I'm also being paid to put up or shut up on a race prior to this one in the morning.

I have room for one racer if they front some gas money. I will be leaving Friday around 4 staying the night, racing Saturday then hopefully making the photowalk Saturday night. I have done this event since Day One and it's always a blast win or lose.
