question?

If I bought a 351 shortblock with no cam (block, crank, rods, pistons, just no cam or pushrods) would I be able to use my cam, heads, intake and ignition off my car? I have ported E6 heads, a b-cam and a gt40 intake. What about motor mounts? Suggestions? Thanks!

It is a roller block and it comes with a distributor and stock lightning heads (needs rebuilt, whatever that means). I could get stock 351 pushrods right? I can get this motor unassembled for 400ish. Im thinking its a good deal but I dont want to spend another 1000 putting it together. Carb and intake the way to go or should I try to find a lightning or Cobra R intake and will my harness, computer, injectors, throttle body and MAF work? Last but not least, what about accessory brackets? I know my tranny does and Im pretty sure about the motor mounts and headers but yall would know better than me. If someone wants to guide me on this would be great. Thanks!

those lightning intakes go for 400-500 on eBay and at local swap meets. You would just need a 351w lower intake but its still not gonna come cheap. 302 dist wont work due to deck height. cam and heads should be fine though. You will also need to check, I thought all 351w were 28 oz. imbalance engines, while your 5.0 will be a 50 oz imbalance, so you may need a different flywheel. cant remember off the top of my head...

Same starter so I figure the flywheel will work. If the accessories and brackets will work (gotta figure that out) then I am definitely thinking of sealing the deal. Hes offering an intake for $500 (little high) if i can pick up all of it for $800, ill do it. I just want to make sure everything it doesnt have with it can be taken off my motor.
