    Sunpass or E-Pass

Is it even possible to get an E-Pass anywhere?

All I ever see is a Sunpass from Walgreens, CVS, or Publix.

Is there an actual difference between the two? Please answer only if you know. Not because you sort of know. I think I'd rather have an E-Pass...

This is what google told me: For people in Florida: Sunpass or E-pass? - Yahoo! Answers

I was interested in the answer as well, so I went ahead and researched it. I'd get a sunpass, but it doesn't really seem to matter.

Yeah, I googled it before this thread. I know that some people here work for the toll road authority, figured they might have better insight.

Epass service centers are on goldenrod (Rio Pinar plaza), or in the Good Homes shopping center on SR 50.

417(b/w Celebration and Lake Jesup Bridge), all of 408, 429, 414, and the toll portion of 528 are part of the Expressway Authority's system.

Surpass, Epass, Leeway, Miami Dade expressway authority, and the Tampa-Hilsborough expressway authority are all interoperable, meaning they'll all work in the others' systems.

As far as Epass goes, you'll get a discount of 5% if you go through a toll more than 40 times a month, and a 10% discount if you go through more than 80 times.

If there's any other info you need, HTH.

Edit: Im not a salesperson, so don't expect me to tell you to get one over the other. I'm just here to provide information.

Honestly I ordered mine online last march before I moved back to FL so I could use it on the drive down for the turnpike and such.

Both are pre paid. Both auto replenish from credit/debit cards if the user wants.

    Both are state wide.

I looked into both, just gonna get a Sunpass.

However, I wanted one that beeped and has LED's for status. They are now all discontinued and are now don't require battery. Oh well..

They also offer better discounts on a toll basis, not like E-Pass which requires you to use the same toll over 40 times a month to receive a measly 10% discount. Sunpass will take off $.25 at specific/major tolls every time you use it.

Both are paid the same, used almost everywhere. Discounts and the *free* sticker transponder are the real big advantages of Sunpass.

    Thanks for all the replys.

Epass users get the same discount sunpass users do ($.25 at the tolls), plus the 5-10%. I wouldn't call it measly by any means. :) the sticker transponder is also free.

Glad you found one that suited your needs though.

New Hyu, just a question, with the same toll 40 times, does this mean on and off at the same junction or literally the one toll booth going East 40 times, or the one toll booth going West 40 times.
