well im in kuwait working and im picking up a SS next week .. Well im looking into just a couple things to do to it but not sure where to start .. im new to these cars .. so any idea's basic stuff .. headers, cam , gears , intake ??

any type of free mods

Best to look up some sites and info on the LT1 motor... the old impala forums i used to browse arent up anymore... of course that was in the early '00's when i was looking for one.... what color are you getting and how many miles?

Ls1 tech is still your best bet... impala forums are honestly not that populated.

+1 ... these days you can get a lsx swap done relatively inexpensive if you do the work yourself. There are actually engine mounts made for your car so you wont have to fab any.

well im in kuwait .. im not looking into swapping it ..just a couple bolt on's for a little more power ..

I'd love to have one of those, in that color too. First to do would be basic bolt-ons, cai, headers, and a good flowing exhaust, then gears, 1.6 roller rockers, then look at finding some aluminum LT1 heads and send them off to someone like lloyd elliott and have them worked on some and get a custom grind cam, and a good stall would be a very good idea too.

i really dont know much about the car .. LT1 stuff in general , But im sure there are a few guys on here that might know some thing . Im getting the title switch now , i should have it in a couple days .. But over here they are not known as the impala ss but the caprice ss ... i'll post pics for sure ...

And you cant get nitrous here in kuwait

Lt1 is a good motor. The one thing you will hear people bring up is the opti-spark, its different then most conventional ignition systems. Alot of peopel will say its the devil, but plenty of peopel have gone on for years without problems. Research it, it isn't that bad.

Love the 96 SS. Only year that they made the column shifter. Car with low miles sitll brings in money over here. I know my dad shipped a couple when they first came out, to dubai back in 94. Ahh memories. We had a couple when i lived in Dubai in 95 and that was one of my favorite cars.
