I hope I dont get shit for makin this thread but here it goes lol

Ive been browsing for a car to buy for while now. I was on CG and my all time favorite car a 67' Camero. The car from the pics look beautiful and I know there some concerns in buy such an old car but i absolutely love the car. Now I dont know a lot about american cars (pretty much next to nothing lol) but the car has a L88 motor in it a part of what I read about it. I would like to know more about it and get your opinions about it.

What specifically would you like to know? Post some pics of it. Is it a base Camaro? Z28? SS? RS package? How much are they asking for it?

L88 is a 427 CID V8.

These 427s were never offered in Camaros. Keep in mind there are several different 427s...Tri-Power, ZL-1 (somewhat similar to the L88), etc. Gross HP is 430 and 460 for tq. It's NOM (not original motor) or non-numbers matching. I'm going to assume that it's a crate motor and not one pulled from a Vette because when it comes to L88s...there weren't many produced. I haven't looked around to see if they make L88 crates in particular.

Use a VIN decoder to see what the heck it began as- that will tell you a lot of how much its been modded...

Compare original build list vs. what ya see kinda thing.

I dont by any means think its BAD if its been modded- it can be if it was poorly modded of course... I just would find out what I had...

My 2 cents. And search that bish inside and out up and down for rust and rot- use a magnet over the body to find filler... you would be best off looking at first gen camaro forums, seeing what stuff everyone is always replacing and fixing, and looking at that stuff too.

On the less pessimistic end of the spectrum- you can buy the whole car more or less in reproduction parts. lol

floors are done but how well? HMMMM

can get into a mess wit bad bodywork in a hurry man... idk if you weld and fabricate etc but if ya dont and the body isnt so solid get ready to shell out some bucks...

From the pics i can tell its modded. As far as rust thats probbly my biggest fear but I understand the risk.

Thats a little high for a RS that needs work, but those cars will hold there value, if you plan on putting about 10k into it you will get it right back if you decide to sell it.
