opinions?
link or something? i dont know wtf your talking about
Oh I thought it was some kind of website you were talking about.
What would be your goals for it and what would it be used for. Depending on what you want, what your looking for and what you can actually afford also come into play.
we've got a few people with them in my club and on my board...
it's a great car, definitely fun to drive, and easy to be confident at speed too. solid powertrain and very linear delivery with that blower...go test drive one, but make sure they filled it up with 93 and it has over 2200 miles on the odometer. GM has the car in limp-mode until then so break-in goes somewhat smoothly...once you get past that point, the pressure-relief valve goes up to around 14.5 psi as opposed to the 8-9 psi it was before...
about a mid 14 second car stock, with a good driver, some bolt-ons and tuning, and better tires possibly better...handles great stock also, unbelievable if you throw on some springs...
brakes and the rest are pretty nice as well, very dialed-in feel out of the box...
there are a few people who have thrown on a few parts, waiting for dyno sheets for now...the setup would benefit from an engine and cat back exhaust greatly...a new intake system too and maybe an LS1 throttle body would help the breathing...
there's only a few things I don't like:
1) gearing isn't exactly what I'd call "ideal"...same ratios from one of the saab 9 series line, meaning 2nd gear is tall for towing...once you get past break-in its not as bad, but it drops pretty bad out of the powerband...a stock ION tranny would work wonders, but thats just me...
2) no LSD...that stock open-diff needs to go if you want to do some decent launches...even a V-LSD would help...its not as bad as it sounds though, or as it shoudl be...
3) the air-to-water intercooler is built into the intake manifold, which means that 192 degree coolant is used to cool the comressed air...not exactly ideal...a separate pump setup with coolant or even raw h2o to circulate through that and an oil cooler would help greatly with efficiency...
4) the stock blower is about maxxed out at stock pressure levels. if you put a smaller pulley on, you're going down the other side of the slope, and heating the unit up big time...however, you could always bolt a larger unit on and it would work out fine...I give it a few months before I see that...
if you got any ?'s let me know, I should have a bunch more info if you want...
if i had a choice between teh two, i'd get the saturn... saturn has better customer service than chevy.. well atleast in my experience.
Is it going to be just as much of a pain in the ass to work on like their other cars![]()

-HOW MANY?!
-None, they just sit in the dark and cry.

Actually if one was familiar with the cars, the other ones were a breeze to work on, with the exception of the damn oil filter location...I want to meet the engineer who thought it would be a good idea for it to let oil drip down the right section of the subframe...
Believe it or not though the Ions are a little easier to do. Only bitch is the oil filter, but if you get the right size socket and extension it's pie. Even with the m62 where it is, you can still get to it with minimal oil drippage on the tranny. I can do an oil change in roughly half the time, and not have to worry about adding more later on as with the LLO haha.
Aside from that, the computer is GM's newest gimmick, so its still somewhat uncharted, but give it a few months and that will change. One thing I would have done different is strengthen the underbody where you typically jack up the car, there's too many "soft" spots that the s-series didn't have. Otherwise they're pretty solid.
