I came across a v6 for 900 bucks, wondering if I should "invest" in it. It runs, but not that well and no way in hell I'm dumping money into the car unless I swap it. My 260 felt waaaaaayyyy faster than that pos and it's basically stock.

No, I want advice on whether it's wise or unwise for me to purchase the car. I know an LS1 swap would be pretty pointless because it'd be less of a headache and probably the same price to get a used SS.
I'm thinking about an older v8.
if your thinking of swapping an older v8 into a 98-02 camaro/firebird its more work than you think. you have to get custom motor mounts, hack up fire wall and cowl, customer headers, and the to build an older v8 to have as much power/performance as a ls1 you will have far exceeded the mount it would of cost to purchase a stock 98-02 ss.

That's pretty much what I thought.
If I bought an LS1 I'd end up putting it in this car anyway, it'd end up being about the same price. Guess I'll leave the v6 alone unless I suddenly need a beater.
It's a red one.
Yo bro just go on CraigsList there is a LS1 on there for $750 bucks and drop it in your car.....Thats what i would do even a stock LS1, slicks, and gutted and your car would run mid to low 12's since your car doesnt weigh much anywayz...
86 Notch....
lol, I saw it. A block went for 250 bucks the other day.
I'm thinking about buying a 2jz or an LS1 for when I blow my motor and build it up now.
If its 3.8 swap in a supercharged 3.8 out of a grand prix or similar car.
1991 Geo Storm GSi turbo 12.707@108.83
1992 geo storm gsi 15.4@88
2004 pontiac grand prix gtp comp g 14.466@94.46
3.8 in grand prix is front wheel drive. If you don't buy it I will I would talk them down to $700 trust me if your negotiations skills are good enough they will be happy to take that.
You can fit a FWD v6 in a RWD car the problem is with the supercharged 3.8L the TB is in the back of the motor. So when you put it in an f-body the throttle body WILL NOT clear the firewall, unless you do some hacking, or some fancy work with the back of the supercharger.
Its been done, but only a couple times.
Also people have thrown in FWD L67 blocks, and put on L36 heads and intakes with work don to them and just built turbo/supercharger setups just not use the roots blower and pulled some serious times out of the car.
