how is it not worth it? from what I have heard they make more HP, and tq then a c1. mist people just do them wrong or blow up and say its the motors fault. they forget that even though the head can rev to 8k, the bottom end cant.

There is nothing wrong with doing an ls vtec I have built a few of them and none ever blew and I beat the **** out of them. Most people who blow it don't bother to do the conversion for the oil right or don't use the gsr pump and timing belt which both are a must.
If you wana rev the motor high get the girdle and parts from a gsr so you can rev it higher, get a good lsv conv kit me I just buy the dowels and oil plug tap the head myself and plug it then use an lsv conv head gasket gsr water pump and oil pump and run a line to the block can't be any line must be the correct size and length don't want any kinks starving the head.
A stock ls block with a b16 head and itr cams is much better then a stock gsr swap cheaper and quicker.
B16 head $400 if you shop around
B18b block $350-450
Gsr water pump depends used or new
Chipped ecu $60-100
Itr cams $150-200
Lsv headgasket $80
Stock gsr longblock cheapest I have seen these days is $1300
By just taking the non vtec head off and replacing it with a b16 head you gain roughly 26hp.

B18B1 USDM
# Power: 142 hp (106 kW) @ 6300 rpm
# Torque: 130 ft·lbf (180 N·m) @ 5200 rpm
(add a b16 head)
# Power: 168 hp (106 kW) @ 7300 rpm
B18C1 USDM
# Power: 170 hp (127 kW) @ 7600 rpm
# Torque: 128 lb·ft (174 N·m) @ 6200 rpm
Pretty much this is what your looking at roughly 2lb more of tq, 2hp less then a gsr thats with b16 cams change out the intake cam with a gsr intake cam and your hp will prob be matched if not slightly more I have no dyno graphs to prove it though. This is only observation from googling around and looking into the stock motors. But the HP gain was tested it made 26hp more with a b16 head everything stock.
and I'm done lol
lol.

Personally I have built a lot of ls/v but for all the trouble to build it I would rather just purchase a gsr or stick with an ls.
where does honda-tech get their information???? Wikipedia??

just get a k20 and be happy.. dont buy something to to have it now think about the long term.. so if you have to save up to get something better then do that ...
Not everyone has $5k to do a swap. If you build it right you don't have to worry about it same as a gsr or itr. Just install a girdle to rev it higher I have had 300,400, and 500whp lsv setups not one ever took a shit. Its all about building I right not taking short cuts.
you are 100% right.. thats y i said if you can hold out and save then go k... i am not knock lsv's i have been there and done that. but i can tell you this after i did my first k i will never look back. it was nice having more TQ. at this point i would rather wait then sink money in a motor that i know will never live up to the past..
to the OP if you know someone with a k swap car ask to go for a ride in it and i will bet you wont want anything else..
Honestly I can spend under $4k build a motor boost it and walk most K series all day. I have had 5 K series cars all ready and I still love my B series. To do a K swap a descent one the right way not ghetto rigged it's still gonna run you from 5-7k and that's just pretty much a stock one with a few goods.
