420a throtle body issues!

ok so i have a 2g n/t as some of you know!
and one day i floored my car till like 4th gear and wen i let go of the gas and took it to 5th gear i steped on the cluth and the rpm's went up i first thought it was going crazy til i realized that my trotle body got stuck!!
i really dont know if its my butterfly or the cable or the spring!!
if andybody has an idea jus hit my thread up i can give more info on the problem!!
its jus that im at work rite now!

p.s. it happens only wen i race or floor it!!
and its been happening always

Try cleaning it with some throttle body cleaner and clean the butterfly.It can get stuck at wot (wide open throttle)if it is dirty.There is also a tube that comes off the valve cover and back into the intake,buy a mini valve cover filter a get rid of the hose and plug the hole in the intake.It recirculates oil back into the motor those dirtying the tb.

yea i replaced the valve cover hose and put a air filter for the valve cover a long time ago!! but that sounds like a plan about cleaning my butterfly ima do that and i will let you know ok

Seriously, try the same thing at home without the motor running and troubleshoot. Could be the butterfly spring, the throttle cable, or anything around that area.

im sorry but im not really good with the forums code words!! =/
what do you mean by carpet FTL??
yea i do it also without the motor runing and it doesnt get stuck!!
im there for like a min with the throtle wide open and it doesnt get stuck!!!
and i do it driving and i step on it full throtle from first to fourth and sometimes from first to second and it gets stuck =/

Once I had an issue with the floor matt sliding over and keeping the gas pedal depressed. I just slid the matt over and it was fixed. I was implying that your matt could be slid over as well.

FTW stands for "For the win" and FTL is the opposite "For the loose". "Fail" would also be a term used when posting an issue that would result from something simple like a floor matt sliding over. It was just a attempt at humor and nothing personal.

deffinetly i will take a look at that but i doubt that!! but it wont hurt to look!!

dont they only have a 55mm, isnt like that the most you can bore out a tb?

kuick question with bolt ons whats the best performance that i could get out of it?
i her i cant go over 2 1/2 piping wen im gona do an exhaust cuz i lose to much low end torque somthing like that? and isnt a 60 mm tb to big wouldnt i lose some power there??

I have seen people with Modern Perfomance's 60 mm TB on a stock intake manifold. It must be possible.

I am not sure about the 3" effects on a naturally aspirated 420a.

55mm would be the most you could bore your stock TB to, 60mm would be an aftermarket replacement...

You can find a 60mm tb on a eclipse,talon,laser,some galants,4g63 91-99 NON TURBO 2.0. That's what i'am using.But iam not sure about the 420a motors.

Modern Performance would be the best 60mm TB to go with, but you can also modify the Jeep I6 4.0 throttle bodies to work as well. There's write-ups about it if you were interested in going that route.
