LED worth the extra money?

I'm thinking of getting a new tv for my bedroom and am going for a 42" 1080p. Play a little games on but mostly to just watch tv. Now the 40" LCD is 400 (360 with discount) vs a 42" LED for 700 (630 with discount) I'll probly be getting a new xbox to use with this just for reference but the majority of time it will be used for hd tv. The area is lowly lit as the window has a blind over it. Thanks in advance!

IMO LED is not worth getting yet unless you're willing to pay the huge premium.

Personally, I've been in the market for a new TV ( I have a 42" LG plasma 1080i) so the best deal I've found so far was a Sony Bravia 55" 120HZ 1080p 1920x1080 new in the box for $1499 but I'm still hesitant on pulling the trigger.

I wouldn't go witht he LED either, the LCDs are better in my opinion and why pay almost $200 more for basically the same TV.

Yea wait a awhile before getting an LED, You can get a much better deal on a newer model LCD which is better than getting an early series LED, its still fairly new tech, they are basically the same tv just LED is thinner, i dont think its worth it now though.

Ya I have come to the conclusion that I will be getting the LCD simple because it's a lesser know brad and is about half the price. The lec's from what I've seen are just a bit brighter and have more vibrant colors but anything will be a step up from my old 27" 360i tube tv.
