Where can I go to find the best local bands in Orlando?

We are new to Orlando from Denver Colorado. If you were to ask me who the best bands in Denver are I could tell you Opie gone bad and Brethren Fast to name a couple.

Who are the top bands in Orlando?

What are the names of up and coming bands in the area?

We are looking to get are feet wet in the Orlando music scene and need some advice to get on the right scent.

We are looking for bands that have a sound like:

• Dave Matthews
• Stray Cats
• Goo Goo Dolls
• reggae
• Kenny Chesney
• Jimmy Buffet
• Up beat feel good music

We are not so much looking for bands that appeal to a twenty something crowd, but more a thirty something crowd.

Good cover bands are cool with us!

I went to Orlandobands.com, but can't tell the good from the bad just by looking at the site.

So what do you think?

i know of plenty of local bands, but nothing that sounds like what you're looking for.

There a few good bands in Orlando. I run a music venue and we focus on local original talent. But being original, they don't neccessarily sound like your list. Here's some groups I suggest you check out. The Legendary JCs, Lost in Chaos, Shut up and dance, B-Liminal, Kaleigh Baker, Shak Nasti, Andy Matchett and the Minks, Megaphone,Thomas Wynn & the Believers, Peter Baldwin, The Supervillains, Solillaquists of Sound, Sam Rivers,Rico Monaco & Sol Sons, Gargamel!. Start there and see what you get.
