Shoot our wedding bid.

So before i go and hire a professional person to shoot our wedding... (professional i mean someone that was offered to us as a option who has a buisness in this area) I thought i'd come and try to help out someone on OF, i know alot of you do a amazing job, and alot of you are in need of money as well (actually who isnt in need of money?lol)

Anyway our wedding is April 9th, 2011 its a saturday, guest will arrive at 12:30 (this is the time we need you) and wedding comes to a close around 5 (you can leave before then if you wish) and we would need you for about 5 hours.its not 5 hours of straight shooting your more than welcome to sit down and enjoy some food, hit up the bar or hang out with the dj, just as long as we get some quality photos. The lighting will be ranged through out the different rooms. Its inside and located in Longwood

So i know their are a few people who shoot weddings, or are just really good at taking pictures...

Post of your price, and 3-5 pictures for us to see so we can choose.

Oh man, you must be a risk taker. You only get one chance to get the wedding right and the photographer cannot do retakes. How much was the local photographers bid?

Several photographers on the forum have shot weddings and have professional experience. Getting a PPA-member photographer also means you get indemnity coverage in case something goes wrong. Local wedding photographers in the Orlando area, depending on experience and what is included in the package, plus time, generally start around $2.5 to 3k.

Having a friend who's a pro do it for less, may be worth the savings.

Yea I am actually getting married on Sunday and I believe we are paying $2600. Two photographers for the entire day, a bunch of prints, and some photo albums.

Jon (hayabusa) does do weddings when he remembers. Not trying to bad mouth but he forgot what day mine was and never showed up, luckily we had someone there who had their equipment there.

I remember that day, didn't know it was your wedding. I just remember his phone call, he was devastated. It did knock him into line though, and he's reorganized his entire life. Really impressive fix of the problem. I can understand your distaste, but can assure anyone who's looking to John for a shoot, that a situation like that will never happen again.

Well we know quite a few people, and we have family members that know some people that work magic with a camera.

One person shoots for Miss America, and alot of magazines. Not to mention alot of other photographers that do a great job. However i really dont want to spend that much money (thousands of dollars)

I know that we only get one day to take these pictures, but honestly we are doing a renewal of vows in 5years when we have more money to spend on everything. However i will get back with the few people that did contact me.. i honestly thought ALOT more than 2 people would reply.

It may be the shorter than usual turn-around Courtney - most wedding shooters are booked months in advance (ie DJ-Z).

Well we have several family friends willing to do it for free (as a wedding gift/blessing) that shoot weddings and events professionally. However i want my family, and my guest to be able to relax and enjoy the wedding, not be running around taking photos.

We also found a few photographers for a great price, including a few members on here that have PM'ed me. I will get back to whom im going to choose within a week. Sorry that its taking me awhile but of course i want to find the best option for the price, that means if the person is AWESOME, i have no issue paying more. But not 2k just couldnt do that.. not when someone on this board that in my opinion is a great photographer offered at half the price.

Well yeah, that' totally makes sense. I wish this site had been around when we got married - I don't think you could go wrong with any of the shooters here, to be honest. You just have to go with who "feels right" to you. It's your day. :)
