TTP's La Fiebre Hustler, 382whp Cosworth/Kelford cam combo what?!
Mora's 2006 Evo IX has been worked on by us ever since he bought the car. We have done a few upgrades on his car along the way, kept maintenance up to date and have custom tuned him in the past to some excellent gains. Mora left us last with an HKS RS intake, TBE, Forge Unos on the stock clutch. We had tuned him to 363whp/343wtq on his last dyno session. Since then he has been doing some damage on the competition.
This time around, his car came to us with the clutch on its last legs, with a single Kelford exhaust cam, ACT HD pressure plate with an EXEDY cerametallic disc and a walbro fuel pump he wanted install. We took care of his 6sp MR in short time. While we were in there, we threw in a set of ARP headstuds, and swapped out the HKS RS for an INJEN intake kit with upper and lower hard pipes. We also had a single Cosworth M2 intake cam laying aroung NIB, that we decided to put in to complement his Kelford exhaust cam.
Upon startup, it had a little rouugh time idling so we made some adjustments to his idle and we got it set to a steady 900rpms.
We proceeded to strap it down to the dyno where we watched the AFR's richen up from the walbro fuel pump and higher MAF signal from the larger cams and conical filter. The first reflash or two we spent tailoring the fuel and timing maps to bring the whp to meet the performance of the last custom tune. We were happy to see that his mods at least met what he had before. :) With some additional MIVEC adjustments, fueling, boost and timing custom tailored to this exact car, we were able to extract a maximum of 382whp/375wtq on 93 octane and this unique Cosworth/Kelford combination.
