why would they put a VQ in it? the V6 model has a G6DB 3.8L that pushes 312hp when the VQ's only put down from 287-300hp, unless you're talking about the VQ37VHR which still wouldn't make sense cause it has only 26hp more.

On top of that, supposedly another shop bolted a Turbonetics 350Z turbo manifold to the Genesis motor and it was a direct fit. I wasn't there and am only going off of what they had said, but if that's the case.... the plot thickens.

i told my girl to be diffrent and get a genesis, even thou its a korean car i have some feeling that its gona be a big seller and have a **** load of aftermarket support. and its gona be hella quick, but alot of people are gona get sideways with it!

and isnt the 2.0 liter turbo the 4b11 the same motor as the evoX? or similar?

My understanding is that the 2.0L is the "Hyundai World" motors which is (pretty much) the same as the Mitsubishi and Chrysler World motors. I believe the closest equivilent is the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart motor. The 2.0L in the Genesis Coupe is in fact a 4B11T.

Here is a guy comparing the Genesis to an EVO 4B11T.

1. The Hyundai 4B11T is not the same as the Mitsubishi EVO X 4B11T. While the Hyundai 4B is similar in many ways, there are very few common parts. The block, head, pistons, rods, crank, etc. are all similar, but different. Different in that they are lower grade. Hyundai’s rods are powder sintered whereas Mitsubishi’s are forged. Mitsubishi’s pistons are made by Mahle and have a oil reservoir underneath the dish like a Porsche turbo piston. Hyundai’s cast piston is no different in strength compared to one of their passenger cars. Hyundai’s 4B block has far less webbing (this is visible from the exterior). The differences go on and on. That doesn’t mean the Hyundai parts suck. It’s just that the Mitsubishi 4B11T is way better out of the box. While the parts are different, that doesn’t mean that the Mitsubishi pistons, rods, and crank cannot fit into a Hyundai 4B.

So it stands to reason that the Genesis and the Ralliart would be very similar in quality (if not the same parts).
