Maurice's bone stock TTP Tuned Evo X GSR '08, +100whp from start to finish!

Maurice was a bit hesitant when he came in to talk to us about his car. Hell I would be too if within the first 3,000 miles, my brand new $35,000 Evo GSR spun rod bearings from the factory. He was hesitant and nervous after the dealer took over a month to get his car fixed up and back on the road again.

After consulting with us about his inhibitions, he decided to move forward to rid his Evo X of the cylinder washing, gas guzzling, hexidecimal code they like to call ECU mapping at Mitsu. We have another word for it, but that's a whole other story.

We had Maurice's car baselined as we would many other Evo's before getting to work on remapping the code. As soon as we started to datalog the car, something seemed like it was off. Our Zeitronix precision kavlico boost sensor was reading abnormally low. Upon further inspection, it was found that the dealer did not know which end of the vacuum lines was supposed to go to the wastegate and which was for the boost reference.

Here were the numbers from the baseline pull:

In a few short minutes we swapped the lines around and was able to re-dyno the car with the lines in the correct locations. Here are the numbers from the lines swapped:

Once we saw that things were back in order, we went onto loading our first dyno proven basemap to the car. The results were great. About +75 whp gains under the curve and 100whp gains over the baseline the car came in with at 7000rpms!

Here is the graph and overlay off all three runs:
