doristyle s14: jdm guardrail body kit/ ziptie fender, bumper, and suspension reinforcements/ dryer duct intake/ bald tires
why don't you get one off a 4agze
i'll sell you one if you want, im just gonna be the middle man though  , they are readily available, if you search long enough you'll figure it out.
mike likes to be difficult...
92 GSR Hatch (R.I.P.)
04 SRT-4 (NEON)
seriously though... you can get one off the 4agze
there is a group buy going on for new pullys on the mr2 club forums

2001 Mustang GT
1993 MR2 Turbo (R.I.P.)
the 4agze came with an sc12... man for toyota guys you should know that.
sc14 is bigger, came on a superchaged corolla.
doristyle s14: jdm guardrail body kit/ ziptie fender, bumper, and suspension reinforcements/ dryer duct intake/ bald tires
oh alright, i guess the other sc14 i had never existed then, woops
sc14's came on 4agze's, out of corrolla's, i believe ae92's and ae101's, pretty much any small prt 4agze should have a sc14. th earlier 4agze largeports used sc12 (pre 1990 manufactured)
why do yo uneed a sc14, is it going on a largeport 4agze? if so i t wont fit, just fai rwarning, you iwll have to fab up some brackets.
Its going on a KA :funny:

uhhh, your gonna need bigger than a sc14
try a m24, they can be had for 600 bucks
woops, i meant m90, i ws thinkign turbo tyheir for a bit.
i have an m90 sitting in my apartment, but its too big. besides, its made for a 3.8 liter v6... 90 cubic inches man. that thing is huge.
doristyle s14: jdm guardrail body kit/ ziptie fender, bumper, and suspension reinforcements/ dryer duct intake/ bald tires
it worked great on a 1.6L ae86.
no i mean its just too huge... no place to fit that beast under the hood. its at least 2 feet long.
..unless i make it look like a gatling gun poppin out of the hood like it was on that 350. :shudder:

what about converting the motor to a dry sump and mounting underneath with a bash guard?
you should consider twincharging as well, you could use a sc12, and one of the readily available 240 turbo manifolds(ka or sr) and then make your piping.
what kind of EMS are you using? you should try out mega squirt if you dont have one yet coupled with a msd unit.
twin charging is stupid, it would be way too much $ to spend, and there would be too much to go wrong with the car. wouldnt an sc12 would be deadweight after 4000 rpms for a twincharge setup anyway? and im not really catching on..EMS ? mega squirt? wtf?
the whole point of the install was for drift: super-smooth powerband and readily available torque for less than a turbo setup... i started out with the thought that an m90 (paid $200) would fit hotside between block and the strut tower. Custom brackets off the block (DIY) with an s14 sidemount (free), custom piping (DIY), and stock intake mani($0). i was going to run a belt off of the crank to a custom drive pulley (DIY) on the SC, removing power steering and/or AC, and heat-shielding the hell out of it to keep it relatively cool. the idea sounds good on paper until you start to actually figure out that:
A. an M90 will NOT fit hotside
B. custom pulleys are NOT easy to make
C. an M90 will NOT fit coldside (without ungodly amounts of $)
D. no AC + no PS = crap
E. positive displacement SCs are crap under high temps
F. For the AMT of money and effort id need to get it to pull impressive numbers, i couldve gone turbo for less $, less sweat, and less time
anyone else want to sponsor the KA24DESC project?

with drift you dont necesarrily want a buttery smooth power band, i guess it really dpeends on your driving style though.
twincharging woul dmake the smoothest power band available, plus you could rev the motor to 10k easy because you could wire up the s/c to disengage after the turbo is in boost. twincharged is no mor ecomplicated then twin turbo, pretty much you pick a s/c that supports your lower rpm range and a turbo that supports from mid to redline. i wouldnt consider twincharging stupid, its just not for everyone, otherwise it wouldnt have been used so frequently back in the day, their is a company selling a twincharged kit for skylines that from reviews said it was incredible for drag racing and street driving.
EMS=engine managment system, if you want the car to run right and reliably you will have to have one unless you get a really good piggy back ecu. companies to look into are haltech, sds, electro-motive, motec(VERY expensive), and Link. i think all those companies mesh well with nissans fromw hat i remember when i was looking around for one. you could even just use you stock engine harness and loom it in to the ecu of the EMS.
megasquirt is a complete standalone fuel managment system that only cost $150, problem is you have to build and instal it your self which is more than some people and "custom" shops around here would be willing to do.
Hey wouldn't that be a KA24DER??Originally Posted by essphorteen

yeah but i figured no one else would get the engine code..Originally Posted by DJ_SpaRky
and eballoonrat, twincharging would still be more money than the project was thought up for. same thing with a standalone, or ems as you were calling it. ive already got an s-afc, and was planning on tuning the m90 with that, but again, its just not gonna fit without a 50% custom engine bay.
goin turbo.

IMO, Turbo is the better bet, it's more efficient, also (with a boost controller) it is more adjustable, plus they're nearly infinite configurations, ie Comp. Wheels, Trim Levels & Housings.
but that just me :blah1: :blah1:
Code:DiabolicJourney_SpaRky
true true, going turbo will be sweet anyhow, that thing will have stellar torque if its similar to the last ka24 turbo i saw.
if you ever get the time i'd love to build a twincharged car, i'de help you fab the stuff up and such.
