i was just wondering if it was possible to fit a 3sgte in to a 96 tercel
i was just wondering if it was possible to fit a 3sgte in to a 96 tercel
yep, it wont bolt in obviously, other than that yep, axles are the problem, you might get lucky an be able to swap hubs with a mr2(toyotas are crazy like that)
do u think it will be worth all the work?
what are you trying to build? drag car street car race car daily driver etc etc. if your gonan go through all the work anyhow. technically it wouldnt be that much harder to make a midengine tercel using the 3sgte
i have one word to say to u...IDIOT
sweet, thanks homie d o double gizzle, this is why bitches shouldnt be aloud to talk
well i wuz actually tellin ma boifriend dat he is an idiot...not u...but yea bitches shouldnt be aloud to talk...das y im aloud to say shyt
Anything can be done with enough money. Im just wondering why anyone would want to make a tercel go faster...
Save the money for another car. Certain platforms are worth building on.
89 MKIII Supra
SP61GT, SS Lex Replica, FIPK Intake
JE Pistons (.020+), Shot Peened Rods w/ ARP's
Titan MHG 2.0 w/ ARP's @ 62lbs
Walbro FP, RC 550's, AFPR w/ Gauge
Defcon DP, 3" Test Pipe, 3.25" N1 A'PEXi Cat-Back
220 Flex-a-Lites w/ Controller
GReddy S-Type BOV Kit
Tranny Cooler
BLITZ DTT-DC
cuz i the car thats why and i think its worth it
you should have added in a comment like, " hey boyfriend, your an idiot" so that other people dont think your just trying to jerk, sorry for jumping on your back though.
the logic of putting a 3sgte in a tercel just because you have it would really only apply if you use the "i do it just to be the only one whos done it" thats a great way to look at things just not my cup o tea ...or if you wanted it to be a daily driver 4 seater with trunk room, which since the swap would take probably at least 6 months theirs now way it could be your daily. if you do do the swap in fwd car your never really going to enjoy it as much as you should unless you did heavy suspension work, excellent brakes tires, light wheels and an lsd. other option is to make it a rear wheel drive mid engine tercel which would be sweet as hell or sell the tercel and buy a mk1 mr2 to stick the 3sgte :)
You could always look into a 4E-FTE/5E-FE Hybrid turbo motor.
Your car should be a 5E-FE 1.5L DOHC I4, so buy a 4E-FTE & swap the Head, Crank, Pistons, Rods, then add the turbo & manifold. you'd be look at 135hp from the 4E, then up the boost to like 1.5 bar & you're closer to 220hp. Then swap turbos & get bigger injectors.......
Good Luck with it.
Dave.

that does sound like a rather complicated and wasteful platform but it would probably turn out excellent. So are you still going through with it?
THIS IS MADNESS!
All that and still FWD.
you make the choice.
I'd vote for something Toyota or Nissan that's RWD or 4WD, that's not a 240SX.
MKIII Supras can be cheap.

well maybe he's going for the pioneer kind of thing. but either way i agree that fwd is a big no no.

so what do you guys that i should just forget about it and get a different car or what?
"so what do you guys that i should just forget about it and get a different car or what?"
No, I think you should do whatever makes you happy. If you like the Tercel, keep it as a daily. I wish I had a reliable daily that got good gas mileage.
I just don’t see it as a great platform to build on to make fast. Everyone is partial to whatever they drive, we know that.
Dude earlier said get a MR2, that’s what he drives, Id say get a MKII or MKIII supra and drop a 1jz into it.
It all depends on your priorities. Personally, my next car will be a MKII supra with a 1jz.
It sounds like your young though, chances are, in 6 months to a year, you’ll want something else entirely.
The MKIII I have now is nice, but its also a fat pig, so once again, weigh your options and what’s important to you. 500 horses makes any fat pig move though... ;)

another option if your going to be doing something completely custom is a kit car, you can buy pre assembled frames for a couple hundred bucks, choose your own engine, and the manufacturer tells you all the other parts that fit or just go gto the junkyard and get a donor car and weld it all on. i really wish i had done a kit car now rather than my mr2 because the thing would be twice as fast, twice as sweet and alot more street legal
I would rather see a 3SGTE in a Pasao. better airflow design, small, Light,
I think it would be a perfect project sleeper.
1.8 sec 60foots isn't too bad- All the time www.cardomain.com/id/toyracr92

and then take the paseo transmission and give me the final drive and top 3 gears :)
