PS3 Repair!

I cant get a image anymore, not even audio. Ive tried reseting countless times, ive tried component and composite cables, hdmi cable and still nothing. I even went as far swapping hard drives with my brother-in-law and still nothing.

so when you turn it on nothing comes on? did you try to hold down the power button for 10 secs?

If you dont get a yellow light when you turn it on, you're good. Take out your HD and put it into another PS3, it should ask you to format it. You will lose all your game saves/data (if you don't have any backups) but you should be straight...

He put his hard drive in my ps3 and got nothing though, Ill try that and see what happens.
Does it matter that his is a 40 and mine is a 60 gig?

i didnt grab his tag but i think he was in a red cts, told me it was a 60 gig ended up being a 40 gig. gave me a bill of sale but signed a fake name, also kept dodging me and my calls, never gave me his real address.

No, it dosn't matter what gb it is. I'm using a 320gb SATA right now...

When he put his HD in your ps3 it should have asked him if he wanted to format. You should put your HD in his PS3 and format your HD because you might have corrupt data on the HD causing it to not load/freeze.

lol i had the yellow light syndrome!!! freaking power supply burned. im all good and gaming now. they system is far more complex than ps2 lol i dont recommend anyone opening and messing with it if you dont know what you are doing. ANYWAYS IM GLAD yours is fixed now
