hey... new to owning a V-dub....

ok i bought a 96 jetta with a 2.0t motor. i not sure on what type of abuse can the 2.0 take with a turbo because i now they dont come turboed stock. what kind of boost have people been running on a stock 2.0 motor

engine is commonly referred to the 2.slow for a reason....

you people are morons and obviously know nothing about the 2.0. sure it's slow stock, but most 4 cylinder motors are, but those motors can take like 12-13 psi bone stock with good tunes. they make awesome power with that much boost , with some ecu chipping and exhaust. good ass find for $600

would you be willing to sell it?

Not too sure on what the motor can handle but I recently found out that the 20 valve head can be put on with a small kit onto the 2.0. Pretty cool IMO. Something I would look at doing for better flow over the SOHC 8 valve.

jdm joe son is right!!! these motors have alot of potential.. u can swap out the 8 valve head in place of the 2.0 16 valve heads.. here is a couple of links to look at.. and also just browse the website in general.. will prob learn alot..

yo thats sweet im runnin in a 97 golf gti 2.0 8v if you or any 1 else want to meet up and try to get a mk3 meet goin lmk
i just got mine tho and i need a clutch so if any 1 knows where to get a chep clutch and some coil overs let me kno thxs guys

i call for an R32 swap in that litlle chassis it would sik and quick but jdm joe dont know what he is talkin about me and friends have done several 2.slowes and they will not take 12psi on stock motor even with a tune and fuel modds sorry been there and done that buy a gti 1.8t swap,vr6,or r32 swap i recommend r32 or 1.8t the gearing in the vr6 is kind of short and very pricey to turbo but so is the r32 so if u wnat turbo buy a 1.8t they made same motor in gti,golf, jetta, and others, buy 99-2004 gti most common or jetta
