It snapped the timing belt I'm gonna get the top end rebuilt for about 2k and buying the car for 1k! Its a 1.8t what else should I look out for? Any tips on seeing the worthyness of the car w/o driving it? Do you think its a good deal, the interior& exterior are in great condition

Look for a sludged engine. Common problem on the longitudal 1.8t engines.

so i picked it up, it has 158k miles automatic
exterior 8/10
interior 7/10

i want to find a front clip and maybe swap a rebuilt one with manual tranny swap, but we will see how money is.
